I started Lucy Jensen Studio in 1987. It was the culmination of a transition from painting scenery for film and television to painting murals and the like for more permanent venues. I moved to Los Angeles after graduating from the Fine Arts College at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM, with a BFA in painting and drawing. In 1990, I joined the American Society of Interior Designers as an Industry Partner. I immediately began forming productive, lasting relationships with design professionals and other clients.

Since then, the Studio has established itself as a consistent source of talent and excellence, creating hundreds of works for residences, shopping malls, showrooms, bookstores, and museums; eleven southern California showcases houses (as of 2008), and two episodes of HGTV’s Designing for the Sexes (2002, 2003).

Every environment holds the potential for something magical to happen visually--soothing or exciting, fanciful or serious. I’m inspired by the tone and character of a space, and the needs and desires of the people who will live, work, or play in it.
